John Emmons

John Emmons, was born on August 17th, 1974 in San Jose, California.  He was selected by the Calgary Flames in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.  Emmons honed his skills at Yale University before making his professional debut in the fall of 1996.  Following a four-year career at Yale, Emmons spent the majority of his first professional season with the ECHL's Dayton Bombers.  Over the course of the next two years, Emmons suited up for the Michigan K-Wings and the Detroit Vipers of the IHL.  He signed as a free-agent with the Ottawa Senators in the summer of 1998.  After parts of two seasons with the Senators, Emmons was acquired by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the latter stages of the 2000-01 season.  Emmons played in 12 games with the Lightning before signing as a free-agent with the Boston Bruins in the summer of 2001.  He played the center position, and was a fast skater that liked to hit opposing players.
